What is FYI?
The FutureYOUth Initiative (FYI) is a statewide movement led by Dr. Dayeshell P. Muhammad, that brings together youth, families, schools, and community programs to strengthen emotional wellness, belonging, and the journey into adulthood.
FYI creates spaces for young people to speak up, programs to grow, and communities to understand what youth need right now by using both stories and data to guide the way.
Our work centers five core experiences:
- FYI Awards — celebrating programs and young people making an impact
- FYI Youth Voice Conversations — creating safe spaces for young people to share what matters most
- SEE360 Snapshots — providing programs with clear insights into the needs and strengths of their youth
- FutureCon — a youth-centered experience filled with workshops, activations, creativity, and connection
- Statewide Data Reveal — elevating the voices, trends, and ideas of youth across Connecticut
FYI isn’t just a project, it’s a growing community built on the belief that every young person deserves support, understanding, and opportunity.

Statewide Data Reveal
Each fall, FYI releases findings gathered from husbands of youth, sharing insights with families, schools, community programs, and partners to help strengthen support systems across Connecticut.
